One of the most versatile apps I’ve found is Educreations. This app is a digital white board. It allows you to set the background as a plain white background or a x- y- coordinate plane or graph paper or lined paper. This allows the app to be used for any subject at any grade level. There are no limitations to what this app can be used for. Below I used it for a math lesson:
I friend of mine initially found this app and was showing it to me. I found it very interesting and incredibly useful. You can add pages so you don’t have to erase and you can go back if a student is confused or didn’t get the notes copied down in time. There is also a record button in the top right corner. This allows you to record your voice while you’re drawing on the whiteboard. You can save the lesson and make it public so all your students can view it.
Not only can you and your students view your lessons but they can also view everyone else’s public lessons. This is very helpful if a student is at home trying to do homework or study for a test and doesn’t understand a problem. They can get on Educreations and see lessons on the subject and get any confusions cleared up. This app could also be used as an assessment. The teacher could ask the students to create their own lessons and view them to determine the students’ level of understanding. People always say you learn better if you have to teach it to someone else. This app has a ton of educational value and versatility making it a great addition to any classroom.
